Compared to standard mulchers, the machines in this category are additionally equipped with hydrokinetic clutches (turbo clutches) increasing the comfort of work and additionally protecting the tractor against stalling or damaging the shaft of the tractor. mulchers with clutches are available in a working width of 2300 mm in two versions: 2.353 DT-S is a model designed for tractors with power from 150 HP to 250 HP and equipped with a rotor with fixed teeth with a diameter of 530 mm. Model 2.360 DT-S is a more massive machine, weighing up to 3600 kg, it is designed for tractors with power from 200 HP to 320 HP and has a rotor with a diameter of 600 mm. These machines have the same application as standard mulchers and can work at the same maximum depth (5/10 cm). FAO FAR® forestry mulchers with hydraulic clutch transmission work with tractors from 150-320 HP.

They are characterized by both compact (in size) and massive (in weight and materials) construction. The three-point hitch system is ideally suited to tractors most commonly used in forestry. The great weight (2900 - 3700 kg) guarantees extremely stable operation and long service life of the machine housing and components. The use of FAO FAR® forestry mulchers guarantees an economic advantage over the competition due to low operating costs, reliability, efficiency and quality of work. The double-sided drive of the renowned German company "OPTIBELT" is designed with a large power reserve. It transfers extreme loads and at the same time has a long service life and does not require frequent maintenance.

The 2.353 DT and 2.360 DT models are equipped with an automatic belt tensioner with a large diameter roller.

The use of taper bushing allows for perfect fitting of the pulleys to the axles, an additional advantage is an easy disassembly without the use of special tools.

All elements of the drive and hydraulic systems are secured with solid covers. Access to the machinery mechanisms is made easy with hinged covers and service windows.

Guards of the drive block and side belt transmissions have a circulating ventilation system. The rotating elements of the drive system cause intensive airflow. Air which is drawn in by the intake and ejected through the vents effectively cools the drive system in hot weather.

The drive block is designed to transfer 250 hp for 53 series models and 320 hp for 60 series models.

Equipped with forced central lubrication (a special system that uses centrifugal force and tubes to provide lubrication where it is needed) and oil cooling for transmissions and driveshafts.

In the option with a pump, the oil is cleaned through a full-flow filter.

The optional hydraulic clutch transmission allows transporting great torque without endangering the drivetrain and PTO. It makes the work easier in all conditions, protecting tractor from stalling. Because there is no friction between rotating elements, there are no consumable parts.


The machine body is made as a welded monolith with two-layer elements in the rotor's area of operation. High-strength steel was used for construction, including STRENX and HARDOX. The entire drive and hydraulic system are protected inside the housing.

Both the counter blades and the panels protecting the housing from the inside are made of HARDOX 550 material. Multi-stage edges guarantee the best mulch quality.

A large, two-layer rear cover, controlled by hydraulic cylinders, is used to adjust the degree of material fragmentation.

Additional HARDOX elements improve grinding and protect the lid against wearing off.

Thanks to the large clearance at the front of the machine (35 cm), a thick layer of branches is not an obstacle (clogging of the mulcher is prevented because there is no typical stacking of the branches in the front of the mulcher).

Standard front, horizontal, thick metal screen protects the tractor cabin against the accidental hit by shredded material.

The 2-row chain screen can be further reinforced with 2 extra rows of heavy chain in the center of the machine.

Cat. 3 three-point hitch system, hardened pins 32 mm in diameter, mounted in massive 28 mm thick Hardox housings.

The steel transmission cover and strong covers protect the drive system against the penetration of wood and soil.

The front cover and the sleeve protecting the PTO clutch are made of 8 mm thick material. This solution effectively protects the elements of the drive and hydraulic systems.

The push frame allows for safe shredding of bushes as well as standing trees of considerable thickness. The standard rear frame has a manual multi-range angle adjustment.

As an additional option, customers often choose a frame controlled by hydraulic cylinders.

Optional rippers on the upper beam of the frame are recommended for machines working in dense undercoats.

The push frame is mounted on solid bronze sliding bushes with a diameter of 70 mm and a width of 50 mm.

The joint has the ability to adjust (cancel) the clearance, which significantly extends the life of the component.

The front and rear corners of the machine have tipped "streamlined" elements.

When working in dense thickets, standing trees and bushes are slipped sideways, not hooked and pulled by pointing machine parts.

Unlike what you can find in other manufacturers, the cylinders of push frame are placed in the center of the machine, in line with attachment points. That allows to concentrate the whole force acting on the frame on tractors lower hitch points. This smart engineering process allowed to relive the majority of the pressure from the machine's body and extend its lifetime.

The cylinders along with the entire hydraulic system are well protected against damage inside the machine housing.


New rotor design with rigid teeth. Working tools are arranged in a double spiral with simultaneous displacement in the V system. During operation, the shredded material moves to the center of the rotor, thanks to this solution the sidewalls and the outer teeth are not exposed to accelerated wear off. The specific arrangement of the teeth positively affects the quality of fragmentation, reduces energy consumption and improves the load distribution on the rotor, the displacement of adjacent teeth allows accumulating the whole force on one tooth at every time. New forged bases made of high-strength material provide extremely stable support for working tools. The main function of the heavy base with a thickness of 50 mm is the "weight" located directly behind the teeth. The advantages of a heavy rotor are mechanical strength and high inertia. The energy accumulated in the rotor acts like a powerful flywheel stabilizes the machine's operation and reduces the unfavorable impact on the tractor. A special 3-layer weld process developed over the years of experience eliminates the risk of the base detaching from the rotor. Rotors are produced in many options, the type, number and arrangement of teeth is selected individually for the machine's working conditions.

The rotor tube made of improved steel with a wall thickness of 20-25 mm is supplied by a renowned Austrian company.

The rotor axles are forged from high-grade steel, then hardened for optimum hardness. The diameter of the axle under the bearing is 75-90 mm.

The axles are mounted in guide sleeves and tightened with 8-10 M18x1.5 bolts. This solution allows the owner to change the axle in any condition, without using specialized tools.

The rotor bearing is secured by a labyrinth seal (preventing branches and wires from winding on the rotor axis) and a 2-lip shaft seal with used grease removal channels. The highest quality American FAG bearings with a brass cage guarantee an above-average work time between replacements. Every rotor is dynamically balanced in class G1 (according to ISO 1940/1).


Interchangeable tools with carbide tips allow penetration deep into the soil.

A wide range of working tools of various types allows for individual selection according to specific working conditions.

The bodies of working tools are forged from high-quality steel and then undergo a hardening process.

The tools currently mounted on FAO FAR machines come from a reputable German manufacturer.


The new tool attachment system introduced in 2019 is used in all new FAO FAR models.

The FF020 SYSTEM includes a new heavy forged holder designed to provide a solid support for the tooth. The lock and wedge clamping system with two bolts perfectly stabilizes the tool body even in extreme situations.

There are currently 3 types of teeth available for the new system:

Universal wood teeth with 3 carbide plates. Two separated "blades" work very aggressively, chop wood well and can penetrate deep into the soil. The advantage is the low maintenance cost.

Single carbide "hammer-like" teeth with a reinforced plate for increased stone resistance. Depending on the amount of the teeth on the rotor, it can penetrate deep into the soil.

Teeth with one sharp "knife-like" carbide plate for wood. A narrow, very aggressive tool with reduced drag. The advantages of this tooth are very good fragmentation, greater work efficiency, and lower fuel consumption.



Teeth bodies forged from high-quality steel additionally hardened in the production process.

The sharp "BETEK" carbide plates placed deep in the body are well protected from the front with a layer of steel. Plates arranged at a very sharp angle, give the tool an aggressive character throughout the entire work cycle until the plates completely wear off. Significantly protruding and widened tooth front and upper fin protect the holder against wearing off during work.

The tools are mounted on two contact surfaces. The wedge on the upper slant and the elliptical lock on the main contact surface. Fastened with 2 high-strength bolts.

Advantages of the FF020 SYSTEM

- a simple and stable mounting system, there are no cases of loosening or losing a tooth - a minimum of complications in the construction allows to maintain an attractive price for tools,

  - quick replacement without having to clean complicated locks,

- when replacing tools, it is not necessary to replace the fastening screws (in tool fastening systems with 1 screw there is usually an additional cost of replacing specially dedicated screws),

  - in case of damage to the screw head, it is possible to disassemble the tooth in an emergency without damaging the holder.

Support skids made of HARDOX 500 material have a multi-range adjustment of the working depth. Small curvature of the skids and a large contact surface with the ground allow for efficient overcoming of obstacles. Skids do not sink in the muddy ground and do not create a pile of branches in front of them.

Special skids for deep work are also available. Special construction enables penetration into the soil to a great depth.
